Health Testing

We do genetic testing on all of our parent dogs. We use Paw Prints Genetics to do this. We also do OFA testing on our parent dogs.
You may always ask to see the test results on any of our adult dogs.

Size, Health and Lifespan

F1 STANDARD BERNEDOODLES
The average size is 65 to 95 LBS. but some of our standards get as big as 120 lbs. so we want you to be aware that that is a possibility when you get a standard Bernedoodle.
F1 MINIATURE BERNEDOODLES
20 to 60 LBS. This is a wide range in size but we can give you a better idea what size they will be when you decide which litter you want to choose from. The daddies have a lot to do with the difference in size.
F1b TINY OR MICRO MINI BERNEDOODLES
12 TO 20 LBS. We are hearing that some of our Tiny’s get as large as 30 lbs. and some will stay as small as 10 lbs. When you choose your puppy at 4 to 5 weeks old we will have a better idea on how small or large they will be full grown.
I was able to find some helpful information online on the lifespan of a Bernedoodle. This of course can vary between each individual dog however, it does give a good idea of the lifespan and health concerns of the Bernedoodle.
-Edna
"As a breed, the Bernedoodle is still young, so there is limited information about longevity and health concerns. Of the hundreds of Bernedoodles I have bred in the past decade, however, only a few owners have reported a genetic health concern, none of which has been life-threatening. I have not seen a case of cancer in my Bernedoodle lines since I started breeding them in 2003, when cancers are so prevalent in Bernese. Therefore, I am confident that hybrid vigor is indeed creating a healthier dog that will be with you for a long time. At this point, I can only estimate an average lifespan: I predict Standard Bernedoodles will live 12-15 years; Mini Bernedoodles up to 17 years; and Tiny Bernedoodles up to 18 years. Usually, the smaller the dog the longer it lives."

Health Guarantee

  1. To the best of the seller’s knowledge this puppy is sound and in good health. It is understood that the puppy is to be taken to a licensed veterinarian within 1 week of the purchase. If the puppy is not examined by a vet of the buyer’s choice within 1 week from purchase, this contract is null and void.
  2. If the puppy is found to have a genetic disorder by the veterinarian within the first 2 years of the puppy’s life, we will replace the puppy at no cost to the buyer. We provide this warranty for two years after the date of sale against any debilitating congenital defects. In the event the puppy exhibits symptoms of a suspected debilitating congenital defect, the buyer must supply any requested veterinary records to the seller within seven days of informing the seller of the defect. We have the right to require a second opinion from a veterinarian of the seller’s choice at the seller’s expense.
  3. Hypoglycemia, malnutrition, dehydration, and physical exhaustion are not covered under the terms of this contract.
  4. You as the owner are required to: give all immunizations (including rabies), keep them on a regular worming schedule that your vet recommends, check for internal parasites every three months until one year of age, start the puppy on heartworm prevention between four and six months of age. Please understand that although your puppy has been on a regular worming schedule the stress of the move can bring out conditions that were dormant. These conditions are all treatable and your puppy will just need a little time to adjust to being in his/her new home.
  5. For purposes of this agreement, once the puppy leaves the sellers premises, it is under the buyer’s responsibility and the seller is no longer responsible for any veterinary bills. If any treatment is rendered it is at the expense of the buyer.
  6. Seller is bound only to the original buyer. No warranties expressed or implied are made under the terms of the contract except as stated above.
  7. I, the buyer, agree to take my puppy to a licensed vet within 1 week of purchase to validate this written contract. I also understand the care instructions and have been provided with sufficient information in regards to the puppy. If for any reason I have a question, I realize I can contact the seller directly. I have read the above contract in full and understand all the terms.
