Which Bernedoodle size is best for your home? Here at Bernedoodles of the Open Prairie we offer three different sizes of Bernedoodles: Tiny (Micro-mini), Miniature, and Standard. Below we will break down the size, hair coat, and temperament of each type of Bernedoodle we raise.
F1b Tiny (Micro-mini) Bernedoodle
Our F1b Tiny Bernedoodle puppies (also known as Micro-mini Bernedoodles) range in size from approximately 12-25 lbs. full grown. These puppies come from an F1 Mini Bernedoodle mama and a Mini Poodle daddy so in simple terms they are 1/4 Bernese Mountain Dog and 3/4 Poodle. Their hair coats are very soft and can tend to be a bit more curly, creating an even lower possibility of shedding. Our Tiny Bernedoodle puppies are just as sweet and smart as our larger size Bernedoodles. These puppies are perfect for someone living in a smaller home or wanting to be able to take their dog with them anywhere with minimal effort.
F1 Miniature Bernedoodle
The F1 Mini Bernedoodle is our most popular size ranging anywhere from 25-50 lbs. full grown. The parents of these puppies are a Bernese Mountain Dog mama and a Mini Poodle daddy. These puppies have soft, wavy hair coats and sweet, lovable personalities. Mini Bernedoodles give the best of both worlds! They are large enough to enjoy an active lifestyle and small enough to be manageable in an average sized home.
F1 Standard Bernedoodle
F1 Standard Bernedoodles are the “gentle giants” of our breeding program. These dogs can range in size from 70-90 lbs. full grown with some of our larger puppies maxing out at over 100 lbs. full grown! Our Standard Bernedoodles come from a Bernese Mountain Dog mama and a Standard Poodle daddy. Their haircoats tend to be wavy with little curl to them. These dogs like having space to run but are laid-back enough they love cuddling up on the couch.
