Hello, from Bernedoodles of the Open Prairie!
Our names are Willard & Edna Herschberger and we along with our daughter Jenna are doing our best to bring you happy, healthy and well loved Bernedoodle puppies. Our goal is that your experience with us will be a happy and enjoyable one. Jesus is very important to us and we always look to him for guidance in all the many decisions we make in our life and business.
We live on the open prairie in Central Illinois. In 2010 we got our first Bernese Mountain dogs and it was love at first sight! They are such beautiful dogs with the sweetest temperaments. In 2016 we discovered that the Bernedoodle is in high demand due to its sweet and inteligent personality and very little to non-shedding haircoat. Since then we have only been raising Bernedoodle puppies and we know they are the perfect breed for us!
We converted our horse pastures and horse barn into a beautiful home for our Bernese Mountain Dogs and our sweet Bernedoodle puppies. The wide open pastures allow for our mama dogs to roam freely and choose whether they would like to be in the heated/air conditioned building provided for them or not. Inside, our welping mothers and their puppies have 10'x10' rooms to stay warm and dry in while also providing space for mamas to take a break away from their puppies if needed. We are so thankful for a facility that feels like home for our sweet dogs.
Two of our sons also have Bernese Mountain Dogs and our 2 daughters are raising Tiny Bernedoodles so it has turned into a family affair! Family conversations often revolve around puppies, dogs, and all things related to them.
We love to have people come and visit us and choose their puppy. If that isn't possible we would be glad to send you videos or FaceTime with you to describe each puppy's individual personality. We will also send you lots of pictures to help you make your decision on your new family member.
